Why most link building does not work

Link building schemes fail in two ways. Either they produce links that Google ignores or devalues because they come from low-quality sources, or they produce links that Google penalizes because they look manipulative. Guest post networks, private blog networks, and bulk directory submissions fall into one of these two categories.

The only link building that reliably improves rankings is the kind where a real editor at a real publication decides your content is worth linking to. That requires a different approach: finding the right sites, identifying content gaps that you can fill, creating content worth linking to, and running a genuine outreach campaign.

How we identify prospects

We start with your competitors' backlink profiles. Which domains are linking to your top 3 competitors but not to you? Those are your first-priority targets, because they have already demonstrated that they link to content in your category. We then layer in topical relevance and authority scores to build a qualified prospect list.

What a placement looks like

A real placement is a link from a relevant editorial page that will exist for years, not a paid directory listing or a profile link from a forum. Every placement we secure is manually reviewed for relevance and quality before we count it as delivered.
